I got to see Warren Zevon. I can even say I knew him when he was living in Philadelphia ("Nita in the Morning" days...) I can't say I was his friend. He was a huge fan of my dog and used go out of his way in Rittenhouse Square to say hello and pat him.
A few years after that he played solo at the Chestnut Cabaret, was playing this very song (on the 12 string), stopped in the middle, look me right in the face and said: "Hey... Will you get me a beer?"
